Alain Gilles - Exploded sideboard (2011)

The container sideboard by Alain Gilles is a reconstruction of a de-constructed archetypal sideboard. In other words a  series of modular containers stacked unevenly along a “landing dock” base. As you can play with different types of finishes and settings, several furniture pieces can easily be created form the same original elements. And while this is an article about sideboards, this one can also be seen as a dresser, media storage cabinet or television stand. We like!
